Root Canal Treatment is a procedure used to treat/save a tooth that has been badly damaged due to extensive decay, disease or injury. At Townsend Family Dental we have saved many teeth from extraction over the years through root canal treatment. Generally most people prefer to save their own tooth as it generally will function better than an artificial tooth.
The process of root canal treatment is generally preformed over two visits. The dentist will remove the nerve/s from the tooth and carefully clean out each canal and finish with a root filling. Essentially without the nerve/s the tooth is no longer alive but fortunately with root canal treatment you are able to keep your tooth functioning.
We are one of the few practices in the region who use a rotary system with a built-in apex locator, enabling us to be more accurate in our approach, giving a higher chance of success.
