It’s never too early to start a good oral hygiene habit, from the appearance of your child’s first tooth, regular visits to the dentist will prevent problems that may affect your child into adulthood. We believe in early age children's dentistry to educate and familiarise your little ones in forming a good oral health routine and avoid any future dental phobias that may arise.
As maintaining good oral hygiene is not on the top of a child’s priority list, we focus on prevention and educating our young ones on the importance of in-home oral care, such as regular brushing and flossing. Fissure sealants are one of our preventative strategies we regularly perform on children/young adults to help prevent decay.
Fissure sealants are a white composite resin preventive protective coating. It is a non-invasive treatment that seals the deep grooves (fissures) and pits in molar. We recommend children that present with deep groves in their molars should consider sealants to prevent future issues. Deep fissures cannot be cleaned with toothbrush bristles which leaves your child at higher risk of developing decay.
